Founded in 1952 the East London History Society organises regular walking tours and publishes newsletter to its members.

The ELHS used to publish the East London Record twice a year, and although, unfortunately, none of the articles are available on-line, they would be available to read at libraries in Tower Hamlets.

My experience in these local history journals is that there can be found some real research gems found within their covers.

Membership costs £5 per year, or £3 for concessions.
