The History Now! Widget
2008 will be 'The Year of the Widget' and to acknowledge this History Nexus has produced its own application.
The History Now! Widget is an amalgamation of various RSS feeds of sites and blogs submitted here.
Easy to install on any site or blog (even on your own personal MySpace or Facebook page), it provides a way of keeping Internet users update on the latest history-based offerings.
The Widget itself can be download from here.
It comes in two different sizes, several colours and can be configured in a number of alternative ways.
Just click on the 'Get Widget' button and grab it.
It is supported on the following platforms: MySpace, Facebook, Blogger, TypePad, WordPress, LiveJournal, Tagged Multiply, Freewebs, Blogger Post, iGoogle, Netvibes, Pageflakes, Hi5, Piczo, Orkut, Hi5 (OpenSocial) and Ning.
Or, if you desire, just grab the code and place it on any website you like.
New feeds will be included as and when sites are added to History Nexus. So if you own a history blog or site and would like to be included then sign-up with History Nexus and submit your site.
It is not possible to add RSS feeds over 200k though.
Because some sites are a lot busier than others it may be necessary to limit the number of items, say allowing only one per day. This gives everybody a fair chance for equal publicity.

It is also possible to configure the widget so that it displays descriptions and images as well as headlines. Or even headlines and images without the description, or headlines and descriptions without images.
It is easy to change the colours to coordinate with the existing colour scheme on your site
